I am very excited to announce the ‘Unseen’ project and would love for you to come and see it or participate in one of the workshops. Unseen is about life with unseen disabilities and hopes to raise awareness as well as inspire and empower others to explore creativity as a form of escapism and self-recognition.
I have started this project as I have been diagnosed with quite a few different disabilities over the years and know what it is like to deal with unseen difficulties.
In 2008 I started my photography diploma and discovered a whole new world to immerse myself in. I use my photography as a way to escape all the craziness of life and the challenges that living with disabilities can bring. The exhibition offers a journey through my photography and my life as I have dealt with various challenges.
My partner and I have been very busy and having a lot of fun building an interactive installation based on the Unseen concept. The installation is as much art as it is a musical instrument and a technological novelty. The audience is required to wear special glasses in order to see what was previously hidden, and through a tactile touch system they are able to explore and create within the world of the Unseen.
The concept behind this installation is to impart the idea that….
“to see the unseen sometimes you need to look through a different lens”
Come along and have some fun and delve into the Unseen.
I hope to see you there.
